Work with me
Taking on new clients from November.
Updated 06/11/2024– Please fill in the contact form on this website and I will message you back. Currently I have availability on Wednesdays to take on new clients if happy to be seen virtually. Due to demand, I am operating a wait list for face to face appointments on Tuesdays (likely a January start for new face to face clients).
Individual sessions
The fee is £75 per appointment. An hour is allocated for each appointment.
How many sessions will I need?
Unsurprisingly, most people have a perception that hypnosis is instantaneous. It is my experience working with longstanding anxiety that the best approach is to build yourself up gradually over the course of 2-3 months to create lasting change.
Most people I work with have been in an anxious state for years. Many have been anxious for as long as they can remember. Some even say its genetic, that it runs in the family. Some hypnotherapists may claim to change your life in a session or two, however I believe in time for convalescence and recovery in the body and mind. Meeting with your therapist weekly means you have the continued support, encouragement and accountability to keep putting in the work (this is not a passive process).
I have witnessed most of my clients overcome their anxieties within the first three months, with many choosing to return for appointments every 4-8 week thereafter because they enjoy the sessions and appreciate how it helps maintain their mental health.
For those who wish to come for a phobia removal, I would recommend a one-off two-hour appointment.
What happens at the first appointment?
I will take a short case history, then explain some simple physiology so you understand why you may be feeling the way you do and what we can do about it. We will carry out some hypnotisability tests to see which type of hypnosis is best suited to you and I will set some work for you to do that week. The first session is 60 minutes and the fee is £75.
What happens at the following appointments?
We will cover a structured process of thought experiments which will stimulate your mind to think differently about stressful or emotional thoughts. We will use solution-focused visualisation combined with more clinical hypnosis to move you towards that version of yourself you want to be. Between these sessions you will be given some work to do at home to make the change happen more quickly. Each appointment takes up to one hour and costs £75.
How do I know when I should stop therapy?
Great question. I would recommend a minimum of eight to twelve weekly sessions initially. Reviews will occur over the course of the therapy so you can keep on track of your progress.
I would caution about stopping therapy too soon, especially if you start to feel much better after the first 2-3 sessions. Stay the course and you will cement those changes in your mind.
How qualified is my therapist to work with severe anxiety?
You can find Jenny on the register of qualified hypnotherapists on the National Council of Hypnotherapists register. To qualify as a member of the NCH, hypnotherapists must be fully qualified, be insured to practice, complete continue professional development courses and must adhere to a strict code of conduct and ethics.
Since qualifying Jenny has worked mainly with clients experiencing anxiety and she has her own personal experience of living with severe anxiety also. You can read more about Jenny’s story here.
